London sightseeing tour – Golden Jubilee Bridge London to Aldwych

Today’s London sightseeing tour starts in the city of Westminster, near Waterloo Station. The weather is nice and gives us a perfect opportunity for a longer walk to admire the beauty of London.

In the video you will see:

  1. Start of the London sightseeing tour – Golden Jubilee Bridge
  2. Aldwych
  3. End of the London sightseeing tour – Strand and Trafalgar Square

Start of the London sightseeing tour – Golden Jubilee Bridge

The London sightseeing tour starts right outside of Waterloo station. There is located the Golden Jubilee bridge, which crosses the river Thames and connects Waterloo and Charing Cross stations. It is also near Embankment Pier, for those of you who would like to enjoy a nice river cruise on the Thames. Almost all of the cruise providers have a stop there. This is a pedestrian bridge, which reveals absolutely magnificent views to both sides – London Eye, Big Ben and the Houses of Parliament on the left and the financial district of London on the right. That makes the bridge the perfect spot for photos and almost all of the time it is crowded with tourists.

Aldwych

The London sightseeing tour continues through the Aldwych area. This is a famous area for some of the best theatres and musicals. For example, there is a theatre with the same name – Aldwych Theatre, which is a home of Tina- the musical. Recommended performance for those of you willing to spend some time in the evening.

In the Aldwych area you can also find some of the best quality hotels in London – the Waldorf Hilton, which is a five star hotel offering many pampering options, great rooms with view and also very good cuisine.

As we are in England, I cannot miss to mention that in the Aldwych area is also one of the best tea shops – Twinings. Plenty of tea choices for you and for gifts. They even offer tasting of the tea inside the shop. The prices are reasonable and they will package the goods nicely for you, especially if you are taking them home with you for your family and friends. You can’t go wrong with tea. Everybody likes it and especially the English tea – it is a legend.

End of the London sightseeing tour – Strand and Trafalgar Square

Further we take one of the many shopping streets in London – the Strand. Also plenty of options for five star hotels and as I have already mentioned shops. Yes, not only the usual chains, but also small boutiques, which offer jewellery, cashmere goods and hats. You will be surprised by the lights on this street in the evening as well – great atmosphere.

The Strand continues all the way to Trafalgar Square. On the way you can take your time to enjoy a cup of coffee or traditional afternoon tea and be tempted by delicious and freshly baked cakes. Recommended place for that is Caffe Concerto, located close to that street.
I hope you enjoyed this day and the walk and stay around, I publish quite often.
